Worst Movie Poster Ever.

Why is this the worst movie poster ever?

Let’s see.

Aside from the fact that they shouldn’t be making this into an American movie, this movie poster fails to illustrate why My Sassy Girl is like one of the best Korean movies EVER.

For example, the original film’s poster shows a hot girl almost strangling her boyfriend. SO CUTE! Haha, look at his face. We know who wears the pants in this relationship. :) Yet, I see so much sadness in the girl’s eyes…it’s clear that there’s an intruiging story behind this! I heart this movie so much.

But what does Elisha Cuthbert’s version show? Hmm…some douchebag holding a single rose is stuck on a moving train…and…he is confused about where he is going? And Elisha looks annoying as always. The end.

This is retarded. I hope this movie flops. Mostly because Elisha Cuthbert is in it, but I’m sure they just butchered the entire film. Grrr.

  1. Maybe it’s because you’ve seen the original and I haven’t, but there’s no sadness in that girl’s eyes.

  2. Maybe it’s because you’ve seen the original and I haven’t, but there’s definitely hotness in Elisha Cuthbert’s eyes.

  3. Yes there is. Her eyes are just too squinty, so it’s hard to tell.

  4. Nothing will ever come close to compare “My Sassy Girl” the original Korean version. Unlike “The Departed”, which made almost identical to the original Chinese version. The US version of My sassy girl is going to flop.

You have to understand this film has been talked about for since 2005. Directors, screenwriters, negociations and etc., have been going on since 2006. They are finally in production in 2008 goes to show nobody really wanted to take role into making this film. The only reason Elisha Cuthbert is in it? Because nobody else wanted to do it.

My choice of the female character would have been Rachel McAdams.

  5. I agree with Jeremy….Rachel McAdams would make any movie a blockbuster…..

  6. i love the korean version too! i have a dvd and i think i have watched it for like 24364576575x already! (okay, that’s exaggerating.. but i’m sure morethan 20x! heehee!), i’m looking forward seeing this movie but still wondering why they chose elisha? i don’t think she fits very well for the role.

and oh yeah, the movie poster sucks, like wtf? :/ if they don’t want to make the same poster as the original, they could just atleast make one where the girl is wearing the rubber shoes and the guy’s wearing her high heels.

  7. OMG are they serious????

I Love the original, its one of my favorite movies, and thought it might be cool to see an American version; but not like this. Elisha Cuthbert?! Are you kidding me??? And Jesse Bradford isn’t exactly ideal either….

Maybe Rachel McAdams and Zach Braff.

  8. Well, well, well someone has some hate issues with Elisha Cuthbert. She is a beautiful talented actress don’t hate on that. You don’t have to love her but jeez don’t criticize her. And P.S. the movie hasn’t come out yet so keep the saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” in mind.

  9. You’re talking about sadness in that korean girls eyes but none in Elisha’s?!? Ha, based on that photo alone Elisha’s eyes definitely show more sadness. The other girl’s eyes are plain brown and you can barely tell any expression through them. Elisha on the other hand is smiling but the way her eyes are looking and the sense they give off is that there is more there. It could be some of you are looking at it from a different point of view because you’ve seen the other version and know how that actress is during the actual movie. But don’t be quick to judge when you haven’t seen this version yet. Elisha has done some great work and off beat roles this just broadens her list of very different and interesting characters, give her a chance.

  12. This American-ported Asian movies are an insult to good movies everywhere. A lot of American movie makers are now copying Asian movies, this just proves that Asian makes better movies than others. My Sassy Girl, Love Letter Box, Jeni & Juno, Ringu (The Ring), Red Eye, Mirrors, The Eye, Speed Racer and even Power Rangers! And a lot more too many to mention here. They copied horror movies, action movies, cartoons, cartoon-to-real movies, drama movies, comedy movies, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love all kinds of movies but these movie ports are simply ugly. Some movies are best left alone. As it is. A lot of blockbuster western movies are action based, full of special effects and stuff but they lack in storyline and depth. People nowadays are starting to realize that there are far better movies than just muscle flicks, slashers or ‘western’-teen-movies. We look at movies from Japan, Korea or Taiwan and thought that we can just copy these excellent movies and claim the glory with our big names celebrities but it’s not that simple. We started copying foreign movies way back from the old-skool movie days. Remember the western movie, The Magnificent Seven? It was based on Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai. But copying movies back then still have at least little respect to the original maker of the movie they copied. Nowadays, we just copy almost everything. This is just sad.
