Well known fact: as much as B and I get a long, things always get a little competitive when it comes to games. This usually means I end up in last place because he has about 15 years more experience and A LOT more time on his hands than I do. The current battle to see who can one up each other is over Bejeweled, both on our phones and on his iPad.
When I came home from the June residency (which gave him 10 days of extra practice), he told me I could buy whatever I wanted if I was able to beat his high score in Diamond Mine, and then proudly handed his iPad over so I could see what he had done. Before I left, the high score average was around 800,000. Now it was in the millions. WTF. How incredibly rude of your supposed best friend to promise everything in the world while simultaneously taunting how out of reach it was.
WHATEVER because last night, I somehow managed to BEAT HIS HIGH SCORE with 1,367,000. Take that, B. WELCOME TO SECOND [LAST] PLACE. HOW DOES IT FEEL? I am now compiling a list of all the stuff that he should buy me. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to add.
PS. By the way, spots 2-6 in the screencap above are all B, not me. I don’t know what happened last night, other than the universe realizing that I deserve to win at least once.
PPS. I’m about 99% sure that by the time Monday rolls around, I’ll be back in second [last] place.
PPPS. Yes, I am well aware that we’re both playing under his account so in the end, he still wins and I am, as always, left with nothing.

At least you know, that in one glorious moment of time, you have defeated him!
