Dreams really do come true, and not the nightmarish kind. Also, sometimes geeking out to the point of stalker-dom helps. Remember when I totally freaked out because an episode of Henry’s Kitchen was being filmed next door?

Well, instead of my neighbor issuing a restraining order against me, the opposite happened. A friend recognized a guy in the video who turned out to live next door, told him about me being obsessed with the series, then told me that she told him and that he told her that I could come on a shoot, and then he left me a note on my door about the shoot, and then I called him (before accidentally texting a complete stranger beforehand, which was totes embarrassing) and then he told me about the shoot and then I went to visit and got to be in the background of the very final episode of Henry’s Kitchen.

And that is how I finally met my neighbor. Yes, it took a mutual friend, a stalkerish blog post, a viral video series, one note, a wrong text message and a phone call. All the while, I could have just knocked on his front door but then I would have nothing to blog about.

OMG so how stupid do I look? B didn’t even notice my giant moon face when he first watched the episode, which is good because I would hate to think I ruined the shot, but I couldn’t stop grinning because the whole set was hilarious. I think everyone was either good friends, improv actors or both so the whole atmosphere was full of jokes and laughing and fake beer.

And I finally got to meet Henry! I’m sad that the web series is over but if there’s anything we learned from The Office or LOST, sometimes it’s good to end a show on a high note (and not drag things out forever and ever).

PS. The more I look at that screencap, the more embarrassed I get about my whole life.

A couple weeks ago, I got to crash an X-Play shoot to play around with Double Fine’s new Kinect game, Happy Action Theater. And holy crap, it was awesome. I mean, it’s not really a game–but in a good way. It’s more like a great way to have fun with motion control while pretending to be a little kid again. I’m nowhere near my Xbox right now but I plan to download this game as soon as I get home.

Anyway, you can see me in the b-roll in this X-Play segment. I’m like, totally famous. Like, not.

Later after all the important talent and producers left, my friends and I reenacted some famous movie scenes with all the different settings. Check it out!

This is like two horrible nightmares in a single picture: bananas (which everyone knows I hate) and the alien from Alien. I hate the alien from Alien. Somehow I watched this movie when I was really small and was completely traumatized by every single scene. Even just looking at H.R. Giger books, which my dad had plenty of, made me scared. I hate you, alien from Alien. And I still hate you, banana.

OMG YOU GUYS. Forever 21 has partnered up with Sanrio to create an exclusive Hello Kitty apparel line? WHAT? OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. This is major problem.

For one thing, I haven’t bought anything from Forever 21 since like…two years ago. First it was a New Year’s Resolution because I realized that the majority (like 99) of the clothes I was donating to Goodwill was the crappy tops and cardigans that I had bought from F21. They were so cheap that they either shrunk, changed shape, or got holes that I didn’t even care about getting rid of them. And as someone who plans to have a massive wardrobe of beautiful, expensive clothes in the future, this wasn’t working.

After that year, I just stopped shopping at F21. I would walk around and look for stuff, but coming back to their clothes was yucky. Things were either too trendy, too slutty or just too stupid.

And you know what’s even worse? I’M JAPANESE. This means wearing anything Hello Kitty would just be overkill. I might as well wear a rice paddy hat and stop pronouncing my R’s correctly. No, it doesn’t help that I already have a giant Hello Kitty bag and a Hello Kitty iPhone cover. Topping the outfit off with a Hello Kitty cardigan and Hello Kitty blouse would just make the universe implode.

So how am I supposed to enjoy this collection NOW? Life is so hard.

Little Anko’s first birthday is coming up! Well, my birthday is coming up first and that’s way more important but after the world is done celebrating ME, we can think about this little babby’s 1st birthday. He’s turning a whole year old!!! How crazy is that?

I know this is cliche, but it honestly feels like yesterday that we welcomed his little stinky face into the world. Now, he drools and babbles and crawls around kinda weird and tries to put everything in his mouth.

Since I am his most favoritest auntie, I have to outdo EVERYONE in giving him the best birthday present. What does Sun Chips have to do with this? Well, seeing as how he is attracted to anything that makes loud, crackling noises, I figured he’d really enjoy Sun Chip’s new compostable bags. And boy, are they loud and crackly.

They’re also super cheap so I’d be saving myself money, too. Yes, I am a genius.

My awesome friend Jason at Naughty Dog commissioned a painting from JSalvador, the artist responsible for My Super Emo Friends. This time, it was Uncharted’s Nathan Drake to get in touch with his feelings and Jason asked everyone for ideas on why the action character would be sad. Well, easy. He’s tired from all that climbing he has to do! Jason picked my caption and here’s the final piece!!!

In case you guys didn’t believe that I really was at Comic-Con, Dana and I checked out Preview Night last Wednesday so everyone could see what was happening on the show floor. Yes, last Wednesday is almost a week ago and SDCC is over but it took me that long to actually drum up the nerve to watch my pancake face on camera.

Yesterday was Good Friday and that meant it was just like any other normal Friday for us (aside from the fact that it was B’s birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!). At work, we decided to have a little arts-and-craft fun by painting Easter eggs that featured our favorite video games. Seeing as how I am obsessed with God of War but lack the nimble artistic skills to actually paint Kratos’ bulging six pack on a fragile egg, I decided to go for something simple. Like ilomilo.
