This is the true story of 8 Asian bloggers–wait, only 4–picked to be a part of an Asian American blogger gathering who are forced to sit together very closely on stage with about 15 other bloggers to find out what happens…Oh, who cares. Actually, do you want to know what happens when we get together in person?

This past Saturday, I got to meet up with Ernie, Jee and Christine (WHO CROSSED THE FRIGGIN BORDER FOR THIS) for Banana 09. It was pretty awesome to meet other bloggers face to face, especially those who’ve you disagreed with before and it was a good lesson to realize that the Internet does not equal real life.

It also reaffirmed my belief that all my friends on 8Asians are like the funniest, bestest and most awesomest (like totally) people ever.

I love how it looks like they filmed this in someone’s backyard in Torrance or Gardena. Thanks to Joz for the heads up.

Okay, so what happens when some of the vigilante bloggers from 8Asians.com gets together for a full night of Asian-celebration (sorry, I meant, Kollaboration) and one of them (*ahem*) brings along her tall, geeky white fiance???

YEAAAHHHHH! Take that, bitter Asian guys who hate all the white men who take their women. We can have all the lengthy online discourse you want, but at the end of the night, we’re all going home to THIS.

(Actually, that would just be me. I hope. Please?)

I love it when something fabulous hits the Internet and then people pull out their awesome Photoshop skills and turn it into a whole amazing phenomenon. (Do you like my use of adjectives? Fortunately for you, I’ve run out.)

Check out Luke Song’s hat (which apparently is a one-of-a-kind and for Aretha ONLY) as it makes its way around the world. Who else agrees that this hat should be donated to the Smithsonian???

I <3 the Internet cause I get to write about really stupid news stories for a well respected website and instead of everyone being like, “dude, WTF does this have to do with the Asian American diaspora and how is it relevant to our lives?” it’s totally okay cause the editor makes an awesome photo-illustration to accompany it.

I think I’ve dropped the 8Asians street cred down a couple points.

I just wish narwhals were Asian cause then I’d write about them all the time there.

I already wrote about this on 8asians.com, but I also wanted to share it over here. And by share, I mean, basically repeat everything to myself, all sad and alone.

But Tokyomango (a very entertaining blog about the randominities of Japanese culture) featured the Seirogan stuffed pillow. I’m probably spelling the medicine wrong, but this was the go-to pill any time I had a horrible tummy cramp (and I guess diarrhea but that is NOT for you to know). I even have some in my medicine cabinet right now, stinking everything else up, and even though it expired maybe like 6 months ago, I STILL made a certain significant other take it when he was complaining of indigestion. He said it didn’t work, and I think either he’s lying or this awesome shit only works on Asian people.

I even remember when Jenny brought up the stinky rabbit-poo pills once at Brown, and it was like watching the universe come together. (That and the fact that she also loved Emily of New Moon.)

Not get me started on how this pillow is also supposed to SMELL like the medicine. Gross.

But let me tell you…I really want their Kinkan pillows, which is basically the best mosquito bite medicine. I used to always get the worst bug bites in Japan every summer so that I had all these huge red welts all over my legs, despite the katorisenko. That burning stuff NEVER worked. Anyway, then my bites would get smaller and turn this bright magenta color, so not only did I itch like crazy, I also looked like a leper.
