I learned early on that life wasn’t fair. I know. I get it. It’s not fair that I have the biggest butt in the family, or that I have flat feet, or that I feel like I am wasting my $35K-a-year education at my desk for 10 hours a day, but that’s okay. LIFE ISN’T FAIR.
But sometimes you come across things that make you want to scream it out the window. WHY ISN’T LIFE MORE FAIR? Like when you read about your fellow classmates being more successful than you, or your stupid car’s headlight goes out right when you have no time to get it fixed. You know, like WTF THIS SUCKS ARGGGHHH.
I went through these emotions the other day, when I read about a Myspace bulletin posted by The Bouncing Souls (aaaawwwesome!):
Yesterday we all enjoyed celebrating the wedding day of our good friend Frank from My Chemical Romance to his beautiful wife Jamia. It was a fine family gathering which ended up in us singing a couple of Frank’s fav Souls songs. Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio jumped up to sing along to an acoustic version of Night On Earth. He also did 3 of his songs on acoustic. Acoustic Skiba = goosebumps.
Okay? This isn’t fair. Aside from My Chemical Romance whom I could care less about, is it really necessary for the universe to let me know that a couple of my favorite bands like to hang out together and play impromptu music and basically, put on a little show AND NOT LET ME BE A PART OF IT?
Yeah, thanks. Anyone else you want to throw in there? Then Beck strolled in and announced that he was going back to his Odelay roots and doing a special rendition of all my favorite songs? Then they pulled out a giant box of Alfajores and gorged themselves on some Dulce De Leche sweetness? Then they all got together and played a couple games of Halo? What else? What else? Bring it on. I can take it!
