I love it when great classic American literature meets great classic American video games.

Yesterday, I was given the awesome opportunity to interview Jay Baruchel, who was in studio to talk about The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which I secretly want to see. Even though I really wanted to spend 30 minutes discussing the the awesomeness of Undeclared and sending him telepathic thoughts about how I used to have a crush on him, I asked him more about The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Nic Cage, his nerd type and…yeah.

Anyway. It’s Friday. I’m going offline now.

Sometime last year, Benjamin Linus Michael Emerson came to our office. This was before I knew who he was, so I had no idea how close I was to being kidnapped by The Others and taken to another island. But knowing that the final season of Lost premieres tonight (which we are celebrating with yummy tamales and maybe even rainbow pancakes…? What is wrong with my tummy?) makes this behind-the-scenes interview with my boss even better. It’s really eerie to hear Ben’s voice and see him sitting on a sofa in such a familiar setting.

I just wish that I had thrown a hot pocket at him at the time. *sad face* I’m filing that idea under the Great Moments that I Totally Missed Out On and If Only I Had a Time Machine file in my brain.

My co-worker, Sterling, just won the unofficial Halloween costume contest in the office. Seriously. Could anyone come up with a better videogame related outfit?

MJwhiteboard

So there’s this whiteboard at work where we often post questions of the day for the office to respond. Today was my question amid all the hooplah over whether or not the King of Pop had really passed away or not. A coworker posted this on her twitter, which already got over 3,000 views.

Dang, either she’s really popular or the public is finally learning the power of our whiteboard, which only speaks the truth. Yesterday it declared that playing the Lord of the Rings Online RGP was nerdier than playing the future Star Wars: The Old Republic. Duh. Hobbit feet are the worst.

RIP Michael Jackson. I didn’t really feel sad until I saw a clip of a Jackson 5 video. We had some good times together, especially in college when I tried to sing your songs in karaoke. Also, the end of the Thriller video still scares me.
