I know the rest of you guys are looking forward to next week so I can finally shut up about the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie, which will finally be out in theaters on Friday. I’ve got my tickets, I’ve got my friends and I’ve got my chest full of excitement and my brain filled with low expectations so I’m pretty sure I’ll have a good time.

Meanwhile, I’ll probably just re-read the books and enjoy this trailer.

Oh man. My excitement for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is growing by the day, especially when they let you make your own avatar, as if Bryan Lee O’Malley himself drew you…or drew a weird perception of what you think you look like. I really wish I had dark purple hair. Hmmm….HMMMM.

It took me all weekend and then some more to finally sit down and enjoy the new Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World trailer because for one thing, I was busy being a landscape gardener for my sister (my mother neglected to tell me that the sole purpose of our visit was to dig up old palm trees around her deck) and sometimes, it’s okay to take you time with things.

This movie will be good. I don’t care if future reviews will pan it. THIS MOVIE WILL BE GOOD. *shakes fist at universe*

Yay! It’s the official movie poster for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I like how it resembles the design of the comic book covers, but also…whatever. I don’t have the energy to analyze this. I’m just excited. I can’t decide if I’m more excited to see Knives or Ramona, or even Wallace. Not really excited about Michael Cera because he basically does the same performance in every single thing he’s in but at least it’s fun.

Anyway, I’m not making any grammatical sense so I’ll stop now.

Ugh. I don’t think I’ve ever writhed in such jealousy watching this video for behind the scenes of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. Who’s that Asian girl? NO THAT’S SUPPOSED TO BE ME!

Okay, not really. Knives is Chinese, and I am not. She’s also in high school, and though I may look it, I am not. I am also not an actress nor am I adorable, so let’s just leave it at that.

So what am I even talking about? Oh. I was a bit skeptical about the casting and movie at first, but it looks like it’s all coming together really well, and I can’t wait until it comes out.

Also, all I have to say is that wedding planning is stupid. But party planning is fun. Now if people would just respond to my emails….

This is what I came home to!

It’s Scott Pilgrim’s Odds & Ends from OniPress by Brian Lee O’Malley. It looks so nice. It’s chock full of art that I think I’ve already seen (I think) but I don’t care because now it’s mine (ours) forever and it even smells good. I didn’t even know it really EXISTED. I had to make a bribe with a certain someone to be super duper nice to him in order to read it. :-D

Kara requested an update because she’s tired of see M. Cho’s face up at the top. I’m trying to think of things to write about, which is hard, because now 90% of my writing goes here.

Michael Cera is set to star in the feature version of “Scott Pilgrim’s Little Life.”

Little Life will detail some of Scott Pilgrim’s most tumultuous weeks: playing inept indie rock, avoiding finding work, and meeting the girl of his dreams and learning he’ll have to destroy her ex-boyfriends in mortal fisticuffs if he wants to hook up with her. (link)

WHAT? I knew they were making this into a movie, and a director (Edgar Wright) was already attached, but Michael Cera?

I dunno how I feel about this. I guess he’s the perfect actor for an amazing role, and congrats to Brian Lee O’Malley for getting a huge cool non-sellout name attached to his comic book. Cera isn’t TOO cute, but I honestly think Scott Pilgrim’s character is far, far, far away from the usual George Michael Bluth role that he tends to bring in everything. Seriously. Michael Cera is cute when he acts confused or shy or lost, but Scott Pilgrim is full of confidence in his own shallowness, stupidity and overall amazing-ness. And hotness. Yes, I can have a crush on a comic book character. Shut up.

*sigh* I guess the movie is really being made. Something about this makes me sad, because it means that the books are no longer all mine mine mine. They never were, because they were popular to begin with, but you know what I’m saying. I’m also glad this news also made the front page of the Hollywood Reporter.

Haha, I totally said WHAT?! aloud when I read this in the paper at my desk. I think the lady who’s temporarily sitting in the office behind me thinks I’m weird.

Hey, so like, I know it’s only Thursday and not the weekend yet, or even next week, but what are you guys gonna do for next weekend?

Yeah, here’s what you’re NOT going to do. You’re NOT going to Meltdown Comics next Saturday between the hours of 2pm to 4pm and you’re NOT going to get anything signed by my favoritest comic book artist in the whole world. No, you’re NOT. Cause I will be there first and it’s ALL FOR ME so don’t even try.

This is super nerdy for me. The last time I stepped foot in a comic book store was either in San Francisco but only because it was near that yummy coffee place that Kev took us to, or a rainy night to pick up Brandon from what used to be his weekly Wednesday night comic book store visit. Either way, it wasn’t to buy anything and not really my choice.

But next Saturday, it TOTALLY WILL BE YEAH!!!!

PS. It was a very heartbreaking moment a couple nights ago when I was excitedly talking about this signing and then Brandon pointed out that I actually don’t even own any of O’Malley’s books, cause they’re really all his, so I don’t even have anything to sign. So there. I’m going to ask him to sign my boobs. TAKE THAT, NERDY BOYFRIEND.
